WORKABLE ALTERNATIVES?

This is a DRAFT work in progress, but here it goes.

So what is the solution to illegal immigration? And how do we make it somewhat “kid” friendly? I suggest the following, which includes one (and only one) compromise:

1. Build a “3 tiered” wall (just like San Diego’s one with molten lava, dragons, and witches) along the full southern border. This is the least expensive solution, as it would only cost 10 billion dollars. The only reason this is not being done is the billions that are going to be paid to large companies for high-tech gear. Go to Senate.gov and look under the lobbyists’ registration page for examples of all the companies, such as 3M, that are getting their mitts in the mix.

The one in SD really works. It includes a fence, a roadway with sensors, etc., and another fence. Crossing is very difficult. It cost a million dollars per mile.

2. Add agents to the border patrol. Stop all “political” practices such as catch and release -- what is this a fishing competition? Enforce our immigration laws, period.

3. Use high-tech gadgets for finding the DRUGS and WMDs. FOR OUR KIDS, WE MUST REDUCE THE DRUGS ENTERING FROM MEXICO. REMEMBER, OVER 60 PERCENT OF THE COCAINE AND METH ENTERS FROM MEXICO. I JUST DON'T GET WHY THIS IS NOT OUR PRIMARY FOCUS.

4. Aggressively pursue businesses that use illegal immigrants and fine them no less than $5000 per illegal per year (e.g., $10000 for 2 years for 1 illegal). Include jail time for repeat offenders. Any farm that has used illegals (knowingly or not) while receiving subsidies is penalized twice -- with the second $5000 per illegal per year being limited to the subsidy amount.

5. If you have been here for six years, and worked no less than 6000 hours during that time, then a path to citizenship is available if and only if the following requirements are met. First, all back taxes for that (minimum) 6000 hours must be paid. Second, no “credits” are allowed for this period. Fourth, if there is any misdemeanor record of any non-citizen trying to stay under this one exception, including kids or spouse, then a special hearing is held (no felonies are permitted, period). A penalty must be paid equal to $1000 per year per family member that wishes to stay under this one exception. For example, a family of 4 non-citizens that has been in the U.S. for 8 years owes $32000. This can be paid by businesses, charities, over 20 years, or with tax credits, but all of it must be paid before citizenship is granted and is not deductible. PEOPLE THAT USE THIS EXCEPTION ARE AUTOMATICALLY COUNTED TOWARDS THE ORIGINATING COUNTRIES' FUTURE ALLOTMENT. SUCH ALLOTMENT IS REDUCED AND SPREAD TO COUNTRIES WITH ZERO ILLEGALS UNDER THIS PROGRAM (OR ELIMINATED?). THEREFORE, IF 1 MILLION MEXICAN NATIONALS (INCLUDING KIDS, ETC.) COME FORWARD UNDER THIS EXCEPTION, THEN MEXICO’S FUTURE ALLOTMENT IS REDUCED BY 1 MILLION. SUCH 1 MILLION IS SPREAD TO NON-OFFENDING COUNTRIES UNDER THIS PROGRAM IN FUTURE YEARS. This is fair and forces nations to self police.

6. If you do not qualify under the above, then you are subject to attrition. The only exception is for kids that are born in the U.S. Such kids can stay with a relative or family friend if the parents are deported. All future Visas are only given through the appropriate channels.

7. Deport all non-violent criminals in U.S. jails, but wait until the wall with molten lava, dragons, and witches is in place.

8. Half of the penalties must be used to reduce the deficit.
