
[Corporate press refers to the fact that most U.S. press organizations are owned by publicly traded companies that ultimately focus on generating profits for their shareholders; and not "investigative journalism." Examples of this include NBC (which is owned by GE), CBS (which is directly publicly traded), ABC (which is owned by Disney), CNN (which is owned by Time Warner), and Fox (which is owned by News Corporation). It is important to remember that these companies are profit driven and have a primary responsibility of making money for their shareholders; and not to the "truth." They are in the business of selling products.]
