ALLEN SOUNDS LIKE A YOU KNOW WHAT

This is one more reason we need a third party in this country. We either have too many self-serving politicians that are outright dirty, crooked or have no real connection to the average citizen.

Criminal behavior should not be "accepted" and in the case of the Congress (which polices itself) the failure to disclose a conflict of interest should be unacceptable. In the private sector, consultants and attorneys (at the top) are generally required to divest, sell off all "conflicts of interest." Why don't these same rules apply to the Government? Why don't we require Senators, etc., to sell all of their stock interests before taking office?

Congress, in fact, should not be permitted to accept gifts, travel accommodations, or monies of any kind from a third-party that is seeking some type of benefit from the government. Such third-party should present its case in DC, or Congress can foot the bill if it needs to visit a factory or something.

On a different note, have you ever wondered why there is a “Page” program in DC that recruits 16-year-old kids? Why is the age of consent in DC 16?

Do you wonder how much junk goes on in DC that never gets reported? Remember that all of the major news broadcasters are publicly owned companies. Their shareholders probably have direct and indirect conflicts with DC through other ownership interests. And beyond that, the main focus of any public company is revenues (annually) and profits (quarterly). Basically, our news broadcasters need to sell baby, sell! CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, etc., are nothing more than producers of soaps, or "reality TV" programs. They do not report what I would consider the “truth, and only the truth.” They report what sells; what is hot now -- no matter the certainty of its “factual” foundation. Do you ever wonder who reports on the misconducts of the news broadcasters?
